You probably already have a pretty good idea of how you’re going to get to the New York area, but hopefully we can help you complete your plans. Since the wedding doesn’t begin until 5:00 p.m., you’ll probably want to plan to spend at least Saturday night in the area.
If you’re flying in, you have two airport choice, JFK Airport (JFK) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA). If you’re staying at one of the hotels near the wedding venue in Long Island City, expect to pay around $45 for a cab from JFK or $20 for a cab from LaGuardia.
If you’re staying in Rockville Centre, you’ll pay around $30 for a cab from JFK or $50 for a cab from LaGuardia.
There are also airport shuttles available from companies like Go Airlink NYC and New York Airport Service.

If you’re coming in from the DC, Baltimore or Philadelphia areas, taking Amtrak might be an option. If you take the train into Penn Station in Manhattan, you’re about a $15 cab ride from the hotels near the wedding venue in Long Island City. You can also take the subway to Long Island City.
If you’re staying in Rockville Centre, you can take the Long Island Railroad from Penn Station direct to Rockville Centre. Expect to pay between $8 and $12 for the LIRR train (depending on the time of day), and remember to purchase your ticket in the station rather than on the train as you’ll save money.
