Hotels

For those coming in from out of town, there are several options around the area for hotels. Any of the three hotels in Long Island City would be a great choice if you’re planning to make a weekend of your trip and spend some time in Manhattan. A cab ride from one of these hotels to the Empire State Building, for example, should cost around $15.

The Ravel

If at all possible, we recommend staying at The Ravel, located literally around the corner from The Foundry. It’s a very easy (and safe) walk to and from the wedding venue. The Ravel is a luxury boutique hotel overlooking the Manhattan skyline, but their prices are very reasonable. They run some great specials on rooms at times, but not all the specials are available on their website.

Some of our guests have reported booking rooms with rates as low as $99 per night, which is a really amazing rate considering how nice the hotel is and the location. We’d recommend calling the hotel at 718-289-6101 to see what their current rates are and booking your room as soon as possible.

Other Hotels Near The Foundry

If you can’t book at The Ravel, but still want to stay close to wedding venue, Verve Hotel may be a good option. It’s located about a mile away from The Foundry, and has good reviews online. Expect to pay between $150 and $200 per night for your room.

If you’re more comfortable with a major chain hotel, there is also a Fairfield Inn by Marriott nearby. It’s located about two miles from The Foundry, and nightly rates are in the $140-175 range.

Hotels Near Rockville Centre

If you’re coming into town to visit with the Hansens before or after the wedding and would like to stay near their home in Rockville Centre, there are a few good options:

• Best Western (around $159 per night)
  Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre
  Located about a mile from the Hansens.
• Holiday Inn Express ($180-200 per night)
  Sunrise Highway on the border of Rockville Centre and Lynbrook
  Located about two miles from the Hansens.
• Hampton Inn ($220-250 per night)
  Merrick Road in Rockville Centre
  Located about a mile and a half from the Hansens.
